Johannesburg Polytech institute traces its origins to the arrival of South African democracy in 1994. Although we started teaching 60 pupils by then the school is now over 2000 students. (PRIMARY & HIGH SCHOOL)

In its 12 years of existence, Johannesburg Polytech Institute has undergone a number of changes. For the bulk of its history, until 2008, it was all- catering for all disadvantaged learners that provided a high – quality academic and sport education. With its 100% matric pass rate JPI received numerous prizes from the Department of Education and the then minister of education Ms Naledi Pandor.

Until today JPI has grown to be one of the reputable schools in the inner city of Johannesburg. Since its inception in 1997 JOHANNESBURG POLYTECH INSTITUTE has provided quality education to thousands of boys and girls for the past 11 years.

JOHANNESBURG POLYTECH INSTITUTE recognizes the problems and needs within education in South Africa today.

JOHANNESBURG POLYTECH INSTITUTE is a progressive, open independent school committed to offer excellence education. We aim to provide this by:

  • Creating a safe and happy learning environment

  • Fostering values of caring and mutual respect

  • Providing dedicated, qualified staff

  • Fostering self-worth and knowledge

  • Teaching students how to learn

  • Instilling a culture of learning at the school Produce a 100% matric pass rate every year.

Our students will be provided with the necessary academic foundation as well as practical skills to prepare them for future study, the workplace and for life.

Secondly the existing mythology of Bantu education and several other subjects was seen as creating citizens who did not think critically and were unable to question the social structures were discontinued and a new intergraded curriculum called National Curriculum Statement was introduced.

It used a skills-based and differentiated approach to accommodate learners from varying language and educational backgrounds in the same classroom as much as possible to life experience.

Families choose to school their children at Johannesburg Polytech Institute for a variety of reasons. Some choose the school because of its co-educational nature or because a child can remain on the same campus from primary to matric while some attach importance to its excellent academic record.
