Donate and
make a difference
During the financial year
2004-2005, we proposed to start a number of projects which
are going to accomplish some if not all our initial
objectives. We are happy to announce that some of the
projects are currently in the implementation stage, the
first was introduction of a full Technical Department with
heavy equipment in the Motor vehicle mechanics, (automotive
engineering), Carpentry, Metal work as well as Technical
Drawing. We still need to raise more
funds as well as donations to make this project self
sustaining.
The following outlay shows our
plans for the project:
-
Phase I:Buy the premises
-
Phase II:Design and
Implement the outlay of the various departments
-
Phase III:Purchase the
Equipment
-
Phase IV: Implement the
Project by opening the doors to Post Matriculants as
well as other students for Further Education and
Training.
So the question is how can you
help us help the community? We need capital outlay as well
as material and equipment donations. For a start, we are
appealing to corporate as well as donors to donate books
(Technical books relevant to study areas in Engineering,
Computer Science, Commerce and Accounting, Marketing and
Public Relations) Computers (Second Hand), Printers,
Scanners, typewriters etc. , Mechanical tools e.g. lathe
machines, grinders, solders and welding machines. J ohannesburg
Polytech Institute caters for mostly the previously
disadvantaged. It is an independent school, as such it
attracts little monetary support from the government, most
of the study materials we have at the school have been
donated by well wishers as well as the government through
the Department of education. The cost of books, computers as
well as costs related to the everyday running of the school
are considerable given that most of the students do not
complete their school fees.
As such we appeal to donors and corporate world to make
donations of the following:
-
Books (OBE/NCS) as well as
technical books
-
Computers, Printers
-
Chairs, Tables
-
Typewriters
-
Electronics (Any Electronic
Gadgets)
-
Grinders
-
Electrical Tools, Welding
Machines
-
Multi-Media Software
(Educational as well as Commercial)
-
Videos, Television sets
-
Funding for Projects
-
HIV/AIDS Learning Materials
